There is only ONE WEEK LEFT until the Season 10 premiere next Tuesday! Wow, summer hiatus has gone so quickly. So, let’s look at what we know of Season 10 so far…
Episode 1: “Black”
(Obviously referencing the fact that Dean has black eyes. It kind of reminds me of the old, one-worded, Season 1 titles. 😛 )
DEAN IS LIVING IT UP AS A DEMON WHILE SAM HITS ROCK BOTTOM IN THE SEARCH FOR HIS BROTHER — Dean (Jensen Ackles) is a demon and running amuck with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) while Sam (Jared Padalecki) tries to figure out what happened to his brother. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) is dealing with his diminishing grace.
Then, literally yesterday, we got this preview clip from the Season 10 Premiere which really homes in on the whole question of ‘Which brother is the bigger monster?’.
The viewer thinks that the chained up demon on screen is being tortured by Dean as she speaks of having no soul or “whatever boy scout code you cuddled up to at night” (which is already my favourite line). However, the camera pans around and we see that it’s actually the younger Winchester who is carrying out the monstrous actions.
Additionally, we know that Dean will sing karoake in episode 1 and that he’ll probably have a very frisky one-night stand with a certain Scottish blonde, leaving Sam and Castiel to just…wallow.
Episode 2: “Reichenbach”
(I bet all SuperLock fans are freaking out.)
CROWLEY TELLS DEAN THE MARK NEEDS TO BE FED — Crowley (Mark Sheppard) notices Dean (Jensen Ackles) is becoming more and more aggressive. Dean tells him that’s the side effect of being a demon, but Crowley knows it’s something more – the Mark of Cain needs to be fed. Meanwhile, Sam (Jared Padalecki) is captured by Cole (guest star Travis Aaron Wade), an angry man who blames Dean for his father’s death years ago and wants revenge. Cole tortures Sam, hoping he’ll tell him where Dean is hiding. Hannah (guest star Erica Carroll) sees how weak Castiel (Misha Collins) is becoming as his grace continues to fade, so she makes a bold choice and asks Metatron (guest star Curtis Armstrong) for help.
The new character of Cole, which we don’t know much about apart from the fact that he’s trying to find Dean because of something that happened in the past and kidnaps Sam to do it, apparently appears in this episode. Additionally, we see Hannah becoming an actual character and this must mean that Metatron will be in the new season! I know a lot of fans don’t like the Hannah/Castiel pairing that has been inferred by writers, but I, for one, am excited. I wrote a whole thingy on it, with pictures and everything! 😛
Episode 3: “Soul Survivor”
(Yep, it’s the episode you’ve all been waiting for…)
This episode is like the holy grail for fans because it’s widely believed, and confirmed, that it’s the episode where Sam and Demon Dean meet for the first time. It was also directed by our own Jensen Ackles, so I feel like we’re all just waiting patiently for this episode and it’s going to be a good one. The clip leaked from San Diego Comic Con last July confirmed the awesomeness that is this episode…
This clip was like the highlight of the hiatus and nothing that has been revealed/spoiled since has amounted to the impact of this scene. We just got such a good preview, so early on in the hiatus, and wow, it was awesome. I also think that the first two episodes will just be building up tension for this pivotal moment, which may be a waste of two episodes but, it’s going to be legendary.
…and then there’s this pic released of Jensen directing Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard:
Episode 4: “Paper Moon” – UNKNOWN PLOT/SYNOPSIS.
We know the writer, director and air date…but that’s about it.
Episode 5: “Fan Fiction“
Okay, so I’m going to infer that fans are a bit worried about this one and so are the cast and crew apparently. Writers and producers have let it slip that this meta-fiction, musical-ish episode is a hit or miss, fans will either love it or hate it, and that’s pretty risky.
There was already uproar regarding the fact that fan favourites, series regulars Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard will not appear in the episode and it seems like the whole idea is one of a unstable nature. I really don’t know how this one is going to go guys.
The only pictures that have been put out there for this episode are behind the scenes bits uploaded to Twitter…
…which is totally cool because obviously they want to keep the majority of it a surprise for fans but I just hope it goes well. I’m looking forward to the original songs to be honest.
People are also worried that Dean will no longer be a Demon for this episode but I think, when it comes down to it, this a milestone of a date that we will all remember.
Episodes 6 and 7 are named “Ask Jeeves” and “Girls, Girls, Girls” respectively.
We don’t know squat about these two episodes apart from their air dates.
However, the Season 10 Sneak Peak that was released recently had executive producers Jeremy Carver and Robert Singer talking about specific upcoming episodes stating, “We’ll see our version of ‘The Heat’ as we watch these two female Sheriffs work a case together” named onscreen as ‘A Female Buddy Cop Episode’ and “We’re going to do an episode which is a mash up between Agatha Christie and the game Clue” which was shown on screen as ‘A Locked-Room Mystery”.
Now, if we were going to match these up with the episode titles, it’s kind of obvious which plot goes where. I am most excited about “Girls, Girls, Girls” because it’s clearly going to be focused around Sheriff Jody Mills and Sheriff Donna Hanscum who both appeared in episodes last season and have been confirmed to return in Season 10.
So, that’s it, that’s all we know about the long-awaited Season 10.
With the Season 10 premiere in a week, get the holy water and salt ready for one hell of a year.
